[ART for a cause] For those with a hidden illness [a sketch]

i drew this one for a reader who suffers from a hidden illness and who represents and blogs on behalf of many others who suffer from hidden illnesses such as cancers and similar silent killers.

This piece of art is quite simple, yet has a holistic dimension to it. If you’re one of those who happens to suffer from a hidden illness, do not give up. You’re like a sail boat navigating unpredictable seas but you still have sunlight (hope, information, help ..) at your disposal. Hold on to those and you shall soon find the shores (treatment). Do not choose to ignore the sunlight when it is ever pervasive and leads to information.

sailAs usual, drew this in Microsoft Paint, using mouse (as part of my hobby).

This goes as part of my initiative to draw silhouette-art to create positivity for people ailing from disorders/disabilities around the world β€” https://niranjanshukla.wordpress.com/2013/06/29/art-call-for-topics-for-a-cause/

Would be glad to do it for someone you know too!

    • Thanks. I would like to continue drawing for the sick. Recently i reached out to a few WP bloggers with terminal cancer but did not hear back from them. Nothing like bringing a smile to terminally ill people.

      • I think it’s great, but some people may be like me and aren’t used to people helping them out–that’s why I passed your post around instead. It’s strange, when I first chatted with you I mentioned I had a 3-legged cat due to cancer 4 yrs ago. I can’t recall the timing, but I felt a lump right after I mentioned her and your saw your drawing of the cat I believe. She’s recovering from surgery, but the odds are not good due to the type which is so awful and I’ve stopped posting due to all the add’l stress. You already have a silhouette of a cat and she’s all I care about (lost my interests/hobbies with my illness), but you may find people with sick pets in the cats/dogs/birds/whatever category as some of us see our pets as family. Just a thought… But you may become the official painter of pet silhouettes! πŸ™‚ I still think it’s very nice of you…

  1. Reblogged this on Do I Look Sick? and commented:
This is a new blog I’ve discovered recently, and this wonderful artist was willing to do a beautiful piece of art for me. This “Art for a Cause” series is very unique, I’ve never seen anything like it. Please be sure to like, comment, and subscribe to them!

    • Thanks for reblogging. If you know anyone who has a serious disease/disability such as cancers, i would be glad to draw something that could bring a smile to them.
